Clashes have erupted in Duphiyar, Bijbehra in Anantnag district after the PDP Minister Abdyul Rehaman Veeri visited the place to canvass in favour of the party candidate and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s brother Tassaduq Mufti.
Mobs gathered at the place where the minister visited and started stoning the police force guarding the venue against the mischief mongers, police sources said.
The mobs stoned heavily to force the police to use force against the stone throwers. One civilian Ghulam Nabi Dar received injuries.
He is being shifted to hospital.
The bye-election to two lok Sabha seats in Kashmir- Srinagar and Anantnag is reeling from the boycott call from separatists and militants’ threat to punish those voting or participating in the poll process.
